The GTA 4 Traffic Mod was created to provide players with an easier way to control the traffic. While most players won’t mind seeing the same cars again and again, a diverse traffic adds realism to the game and makes it more visually appealing. This mod allows the player to control the volume of cars on the road as well as the type of cars plying it. 

In GTA 4, you can only spawn one car at a time and only works for a few types only. The traffic mod lets you summon natural traffic, moving and driven by non-playable characters (NPC). This keeps the game moving and prevents it from getting stuck as you would when spawning cars using in-game cheats. Using the mod is definitely more convenient and helps improve the game ambiance. 

However, while it’s both convenient and adds visual flair to the game, it’s pretty tricky to get up and running. Aside from having to transfer all the game files yourself, the mod doesn’t work for certain versions of the game. This incompatibility causes the game to crash after running for a few minutes. In some cases, it causes texture glitches which makes the spawned cars have physical abnormalities.
